This service handles the transmission of Facsimile over the VoIP network. Users will be able to receive or send a fax. This page allows admins to configure the Fax Server for their business needs.

Dashboard Definitions

A name given by the admin user while setting up the server. |

An extension is auto-generated by the system and is unique for each Fax Server. |

This field is used for adding inbound faxes while configuring the Fax Server. The Email ID used for configuration will receive an email notification when a new inbound fax is received along with the Fax attachment. Admins can configure more than one Email ID as per their business needs for each Fax Server. |

How to add a new Fax Server entry?
Step 1: Click the + Add Fax Server on the Top left to add a new Fax Server entry.
Step 2: A new Fax Server - Add page opens for the user to enter the inbound Fax Server Details information. The screenshot for reference is below:
Mandatory parameters are marked with an asterisk() icon against the file name and must be filled in before saving/submitting the Fax Server form. Clicking on the 'Cancel' button will discard the Fax Server Details form changes and take the user back to the Fax Server dashboard.
Description of Fax Server form fields:

Line of Business | Select the Line of Business under which this Fax Server will be configured. |
Name | Any Alpha-numeric name can be used to identify the Fax Server. |
Extension | Auto-populated by the system. |
Email ID(s) to be configured to receive inbound fax notifications. | |
Description | A short description to efficiently manage the Fax Server listings. |
Step 3: Click Save, and a new Fax Server is added. It can be seen in the dashboard now.
How to Edit the Fax Server entry?
Step 1: Click on the Pencil Icon() to view.
Step 2: The 'Fax Server - Edit' page opens with Fax Server details auto-filled for the selected entry.
Step 3: Edit the fields per the requirements and click the Save button. Selected Fax Server entry will be updated with changes made.
Step 4: Click on the Cancel button, and if there are any changes made any to the fields, they will be discarded, and the user will be taken back to the Fax Server dashboard.
Tip: - Line of Business field can't be edited once the entry is created. If an incorrect LOB is selected, the only option is to delete an existing entry and create a new one. |
How to use Advanced Search?
Step 1: Click the Advanced Search button at the top left to search from the existing Fax Server entries.
Step 2: The user can see Search options within the Call Block page to enter the search parameters/filters. The screenshot for reference is below:
Description of Advanced Search fields:
Form Fields | Description |
---|---|
Line of Business | Select the Line of Business for which the user wants to filter the output. |
Name | Enter the Name given to the Fax Server to be searched. The Name entered will be searched within the LOB selected. |
Step 3: Once the search parameters are filled/selected, the user can click on the Search button to get the search output.
Step 4: Click the Clear button to reset/clear the search field's entry to their original value.
How to Download an Inbound Fax?
Step 1: Click the Inbox button within the Action columns of Fax Server Dashboard entries.
Step 2: An Inbox page opens for the user to view the received Fax details and an option to download the Fax file. The screenshot for reference is below:
Description of Inbox Page fields:
Page Fields | Description |

Caller ID Name | Caller ID name from which Fax is received. |
Caller ID Number | Caller ID number from which Fax is received. |
Download | Click the Download button against the inbox entry to download the received file. The received file will be retained for a maximum of 90 days in our system by default. |
Date | Timestamp at which file was received. The Date field is displayed in UTC. |
Step 3: Click on the Back button in the Top left corner to return to the Fax Server dashboard.
How to view logs for Fax transactions?
Step 1: Click the Logs button within the Action columns of Fax Server Dashboard entries.
Step 2: A Logs page allows the user to view all the logs the system created for successful or failed fax transactions, irrespective of whether they are inbound or outbound. The screenshot for reference is below:
Description of Logs Page fields:
Page Fields | Description |
---|---|
Success | The success code tells if the log generated is a success or failure. |
Result | Briefs the Result Code and the description to understand the results. |
File | Displays the file name of the Fax appended with the time stamp. |
ECM | Error Correction Mode: ECM detects and corrects errors in the Fax page data. To use ECM, both sending and receiving devices must support ECM. |
Location Station ID | It displays the Fax Module in use. |
Transfer Rate | The negotiated speed rate for the Fax between sender and receiver. Data is represented in Bits per Second (bps). |
Retry | The number of times the system tried sending the Fax out. This value will be displayed only for outbound Faxes. |
Date | Timestamp at which the log entry was created. The Date field is displayed in UTC. |
Step 3: Click on the Back button in the Top left corner to return to the Fax Server dashboard.
